IOGEAR this week launched a new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 / FireWire combination ION external hard drive. The new hard drive can connect via FireWire (aka iLink or IEEE 1394), USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports. The 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch external hard drives can store 20G-bytes or 40G-bytes of information, respectively. IOGEAR also has models that go up to 120G-bytes in space ($249.95)
The 2.5-inch version (with 20G-bytes of space, designed for portability) costs $199.95, and is available now. The 3.5-inch version (with 40G-bytes of space, designed for the desktop) costs $179.95. The drives work with Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, ME and XP systems, in addition to Mac OS 8.6-9.0 and OS X or greater, IOGEAR says. Go to the IOGEAR Web site for more information.
