HP this week launched its HP Business Desktop d325, aimed at small business and public sector markets looking for a value PC. The d325 starts at $499 and includes AMD Athlon processors. HP says they are offering pre-configured models or custom-build systems.
The $669 configuration includes an AMD Athlon XP model 2200+ processor (1.8GHz), a 40G-byte hard drive, 256M-bytes of DDR SDRAM, a 48x-speed CD-ROM drive, six USB 2.0 ports and Windows XP Professional. Processor options go up to the Athlon XP 3000+ model (2.17GHz), up to a 160G-byte hard drive, 2G-bytes of RAM and a 48x-speed CD-RW/DVD-ROM combination drive.
