Motorola announced today that Charter Communications would be buying 100,000 units of its Motorola Broadband Media Centers that are powered by Digeo's Moxi Service.
The Moxi boxes include a digital cable receiver that also includes a personal video recorder, high-definition TV support and a progressive scan DVD player. The Moxi box first made a big splash at the 2002 Consumer Electronics show.
Charter said it plans to begin the commercial rollout of the boxes in the Rochester, Minn. area during Q4 2003. So if you live in Rochester and have Charter Communications as your cable provider, consider yourself lucky.
