HP this month launched a new desktop PC aimed at small and midsize business customers with prices that start at $349.
The HP Compaq Business Desktop d220 Microtower comes with options for either Intel Celeron or Pentium 4 processors, and up to three PCI expansion slots, two DDR memory slots and five drive bays for future expansion.
The $349 model (customized) comes with a Celeron 2.0GHz processor, 40G-byte hard drive and 128M bytes of DDR SDRAM. The $499 model includes a Pentium 4 2.4GHz processor, a 40G-byte hard drive and 128M bytes of DDR SDRAM. The desktop can come with Windows XP professional, or a Linux offering from Mandrake (v9.1), HP said.
