Palm has updated its Tungsten PDA by adding more multimedia features, things that are included on its entry-level Zire 71 PDA, such as an integrated MP3 player and video player software.
The Tungsten T2 adds more memory (32M bytes of SDRAM, with 29.5M bytes available to the user), a TFT screen with 320 by 320 resolution, and the latest Palm OS version (v5.2.1) with updated Graffiti 2 features, and on-screen writing. The T2 costs $399 and is now available. Palm also dropped the price on other models – the m130 now costs $179, and the m515 now costs $249.
Like the original Tungsten, the T2 has built-in Bluetooth and a voice recorder. The T2 also comes with an MP3 player (RealOne Mobile Player), video playback (Kinoma Player and Producer) and photo software for viewing images (Palm Photos). The T2 has a new built-in speaker for listening to multimedia files, Palm says.
