Network World Fusion, 09/10/03

Iomega Corp. said this week that its new Super DVD 4x Internal Drive is now shipping. The company says the drive supports all major DVD and CD standards, including DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R and CD-RW. The drive costs $279.95 and can be bought online at Iomega’s Web site. An external version of the drive will ship in the middle of September for $359.95.

The internal drive includes a DVD wizard application that automatically picks the right application with the right type of disc, Iomega says. Software bundled with the application includes Iomega Automatic Backup (real-time backup), HotBurn Pro software (drag-and-drop file recording), Sonic MyDVD video editing software, MusicMatch Jukebox music software, Adobe ActiveShare photo management software, and Sonic Cineplayer video playback software.
