Network World Fusion, 09/18/03

Brother International showed off its impressive Bluetooth portable printer, the MW140BT. The 0.70-inch thick printer weighs under 10 oz., and has the ability to print from Bluetooth-enabled devices at up to 4 pages per minute at 300 dots/inch resolution.

The printer comes with cassettes that include a variety of different paper, including standard thermal-based papers, and can also print on “carbon copy” style paper that gives you two copies (the “receipt” model). The device also has a USB interface that will let you connect a laptop to the printer as well.

The company said it is aiming the device at executives, doctors and lawyers, hence a silvery, executive finish.

Anyone who’s been on the road without quick access to a printer should appreciate the ease of use of the printer, as well as the size and weight where they can travel with it.
