PQI Corp. has released its Intelligent Stick 2.0, an ultra-small USB flash memory device that offers data capacities up to 512M bytes, with a 1G-byte version planned by the end of the year.

PQI-stick.jpgThe Intelligent Stick 2.0 is equal in size and weight to about two pennies laid end-to-end, the company says. The new device offers a data transfer rate of up to 7M-bytes per second. The new device offers capacities of 64M-, 128M-, 256M- and 512M-bytes. A 32M-byte version is offered by the Intelligent Stick 1.1 version. The device also includes an e-mail feature that lets users access an e-mail account by connecting it into the USB of any computer that has an Internet connection. A password protection utility can also be downloaded from the PQI Web site.

Prices on the 1.1 version range from $19.99 (for the 32M-byte version) up to $179.99 (512M-byte version). Prices for the 2.0 version range from $39.99 (64M bytes) up to $199.99 (512M bytes). The device should be available by the end of this month at retailers nationwide.
