Dell today launched three new Axim PDAs, including a version that includes integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b).

Dell-Axim-X3i.jpgThe Axim X3 series comes in two configurations for the X3 model ($229 for the 300MHz and 32M-byte version; $329 for the 400MHz and 64M-byte version), and the X3i (pictured, left), which is like the X3 but with the integrated Wi-Fi. Dell says the new PDAs weigh about 5 oz., approximately 28% lighter than previous Axim versions. The company said it would continue to sell the Axim X5 handheld, which it launched last year.

Other features include:

  • Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PC (includes the Pocket versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, and Windows Media Player)
  • 3.5-inch TFT 240 by 320 QVGA transflective LDC screen (supports 65,000 colors)
  • Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) expansion slot
  • 950mAh lithium-ion removable battery, with integrated rechargeable backup battery; optional 1800mAh lithium-ion high capacity battery available.
