The only real reason I’m writing about this is because of the cool image of Pac-Man that came with the news release.
That said, however, there’s some news regarding old favorite video games. First off, Nintendo of America and Namco Hometek recently announced that customers who buy a copy of Pac-Man World 2 or R: Racing Evolution for the Nintendo GameCube, will get a free copy of the Pac-Man vs. game, which lets players compete against each other using a Game Boy Advance and a Nintendo GameCube through the use of a connection cable. One player gets to control Pac-Man with the Game Boy Advance; the other players (up to three) gets to control one of the ghosts chasing Pac-Man. At last! You get to be the ghost!
The other announcement was from Atari and MDM, which plans to launch Atari Retro, a bundling of seven classic Atari games, to be able to played on Palm OS, Windows Mobile (aka Pocket PC) and Nokia Series 60 devices. The games include Adventure, Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong and Yar’s Revenge. The games will be bundled on an expansion card. Pricing and availability (other than it’s expected by the holiday season) were not announced. Go to the Atari Web site for more details.
