McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas (you know, the one with the slot machines at the gates) today announced its SpeedCheck system, a multiple-airline kiosk check-in system.
The kiosk was developed by ARINC Inc. and IBM, and lets passengers connect to the individual airline’s check-in system. There are approximately 30 SpeedCheck kiosks at McCarran’s Terminal 1, located near the security checkpoints and at the center of the airport’s ticketing lobby, a news release said. In addition, six off-site kiosks at the Las Vegas Convention Center will be available for conventioneers to check in a print a boarding pass.
The service is currently available for the following airlines: AirTran, Alaska, Aloha, America West, Continental, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Song, Southwest, United and U.S. Airways. More airlines are expected to be added later this fall, the airport said. A second phase will enable for the use of baggage-tag printing and luggage checking.
