Planon Systems this week said its DocuPen portable document scanner is now available in North America.
Technology inside the DocuPen gives users the ability to capture an entire page in about four seconds, Planon Systems says, compared to other pen-sized scanners that scan documents line by line. The device will include document management software, and will support programs such as Outlook Express, Winfax, Notepad, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
The DocuPen is currently being sold in Canada in Staples and London Drugs, and will be sold at Office Depot in January 2004, the company says. Other retailers expected to sell the device include CompUSA and 4-Sure.com by the end of January 2004. More information is available at the DocuPen Web site. Retail price on the scanner is $199.99, the company said.
