Canon unleashes cameras, photo printers

At this week's Photo Marketing Association trade show in Las Vegas, Canon is launching several new imaging products, including digital cameras, photo printers and even some new binoculars. Here's a quick glance at what the company is launching:

  • The i80 mobile printer (pictured) lets road warriors and others take their printer with them. The successor to Canon's i70 includes an optional Bluetooth unit ($80), and will be available in mid-February for about $250. Photos up to 8.5- by 11-inches can be printed with the i80, at a maximum resolution of 4,800 by 1,200 dpi in color.

  • The i9900, a 13- by 19-inch desktop printer that include's Canon's ChromaPLUS 8-color ink system. The printer will cost about $500.

  • The imagePROGRAF 6200, a wide format printer that uses Canon's pigment-based inks to create signs, banners and poster prints at sizes up to 24 inches wide and up to 60 feet long. The printer will cost about $3,500.

  • The EOS-1D Mark II, an 8.2-megapixel CMOS digital SLR camera, which will cost about $4,500.

  • Several PowerShot digital cameras, including the $1,000 PowerShot Pro1 (8 megapixel CCD); the $500 PowerShot S1 IS (3.2 megapixel CCD with 10x optical zoom); the $500 PowerShot S500 Digital ELPH (5 megapixel and 3x optical zoom lens); the $400 PowerShot S410 Digital ELPH (4 megapixel with 3x zoom lens); the $300 PowerShot SD110 Digital ELPH (3.2 megapixel with small form factor and 2x zoom lens); the $550 PowerShot S500 and $350 SD110 Digital ELPH Coach Edition gift set (those models with a custom-made Coach leather carrying case and neck strap); the $300 PowerShot A75 (3.2 megapixel with 3x optical zoom lens with enlarged LCD monitor); and the $200 PowerShot A310 (entry-level camera with 3.2 megapixel CCD and 5.1x digital zoom).

  • Two binoculars, including the 7x42 AWP (7x magnification, waterproof) for $250 and the 12x36 IS II model (12x magnification) for $650.
