Network World Fusion, 03/05/04

Vonage's broadband phone services and equipment will soon be available at Circuit City's 600 superstores (and the Circuit City Web site), the two companies announced today.

High-speed Internet customers who also have a standard telephone can sign up for the Vonage service and buy a starter kit for $99.99 at Circuit City, Vonage said. The equipment lets users make local, toll and domestic long-distance telephone calls over the Internet for a monthly subscription fee. Circuit City plans to offer Vonage customers two months of free service and free activation.

Rate plans range from $14.99 per month for home users, and up to $49.99 per month for small businesses. Rate plans include features such as caller ID, call waiting, voice mail, call forwarding and emergency call service. The company also offers enhanced voice mail features (such as listening to a voice mail in your e-mail via an attached WAV file).

More details are available at the Vonage Web site.
