Dell this week announced three new Axim PDAs, with some featuring dual wireless capabilities, and all with the latest Intel processors and the Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software from Microsoft.
The Axim X30 comes in three flavors -- $199 for the non-wireless version; $249 for the system with Bluetooth and 802.11b wireless LAN connectivity; or $349 for a version that includes a 624Hz Intel PXA270 processor (the other versions feature 312MHz processors).
All three models include a built-in Secure Digital I/O (SDIO) slot for expansion purposes, a 3.5-inch transflective TFT color display at 240 by 320 pixel resolution (QVGA), voice recorder and a scroll dial. The $199 and $249 versions come with a travel synchronization cable, while the $349 version includes a synchronization/recharge cradle with an extra battery charge slot for a spare battery or high-capacity battery ($100).
Other features include 32M bytes or 64M bytes of SDRAM, 32M bytes or 64M bytes of Intel StrataFlash ROM, an infra-red port, built-in microphone and speaker, and headphone jack. For more details, go to the Dell Web site.
