Sharp Systems today announced two new LCD monitors -- the LL-172G and LL-172A. The 17-inch LCD monitors include features such as a 16ms response time, and design improvements, Sharp said.
The $499 LL-172G includes built-in stereo speakers, has analog and digital video inputs, and offers SXGA (1,280 by 1,024 pixels) resolution. The monitor has 300 nits of brightness, a 450:1 contrast ratio and offers a backlight with approximately 50,000 hours of life. The system includes an "office mode" for lower brightness display, a "vivid mode" for showing photo-realistic images, and a "standard mode" to show colors from the original sRGB standard, Sharp said. The monitor also can accept input from three different computers (with separate connection cables). For height adjustments, the LL-172G can swivel the display 90 degrees and adjust the screen angle and height up to 70mm, Sharp said.
The $479 LL-172A also supports SXGA resolution, has a 450:1 contrast ratio, built-in speakers and a built-in AC adapter. The monitor includes a 160-degree viewing angle (both horizontal and vertical), a 300-nit brightness and the three viewing modes (office, vivid and standard).
