Network World Fusion, 06/11/04

Epson this week launched two new LCD projectors, including one that includes 802.11g wireless LAN connectivity.

The PowerLite 835p ($3,899) and PowerLite 830p ($3,699) both include 3,000 lumens of brightness, support XGA resolution and have RJ-45 ports to allow for network monitoring and control features, Epson said. The PowerLite 835p also includes the 802.11g adapter, to let users send their presentations to the projector without having to connect directly with a cable.

The projectors also include four video input connections (including two computer inputs), and four dedicated audio inputs (including a five-watt speaker), allowing for a multitude of video and audio inputs for the projector. The RJ-45 port lets users implement Epson's Easy Management features, for viewing the status of networked projectors, including items such as lamp life and power on/off settings.

The projectors are expected to be available in mid-July, Epson said, through the company's distribution, catalog and direct PC retailer channels. For more details, go to the Epson Projector Web site.
