SMC announced this week that its EZ-Stream Wireless Audio Adapter (model SMCWAA-B) now works with Rhapsody, the Internet jukebox software from RealNetworks. The EZ-Stream Wireless Audio Adapter costs $129.99 and works over a Wi-Fi network to stream music stored on a PC to any stereo, the company said.
People who buy an EZ-Stream adapter will get a coupon for one free month of the Rhapsody service (U.S. customers only). After that, the service costs under $10 per month. The Rhapsody service offers unlimited access to more than 50,000 CDs (more than 650,000 songs, including 585,000 that can be bought for $0.79).
The SMC wireless audio adapter works on either an 802.11b or 802.11g network (the adapter itself is 802.11b), supports Universal Plug and Play, and lets users play any MP3, M3U or WMA files over the network.
