Network World Fusion, 08/13/04

Sirius-streamjockey.jpgSatellite radio provider Sirius has launched the latest version of its hardware, the Stream Jockey. Also known as the XACT XTR1 Plug & Play Satellite Receiver, the device will be launched this Saturday on the Home Shopping Network (11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m., and 9 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.). The device will be available in retail outlets in September, the company said.

The palm-sized unit will cost $99.99, and an extra $59.99 for a universal docking station (in the car or in the home). Separate docking stations for the car and home will cost $49.99 each, Sirius said. The Home Shopping Network will offer a special price of $149 for the unit and the universal docking station.

The device includes features such as 18 presets, an internal FM transmitter, integrated headphone input and volume controls, and a six-line screen display. The Stream Jockey can be used as a stand-alone receiver or wirelessly connected to a vehicle's in-dash radio or home stereo systems.

More information is available at the Sirius Web site.
