We're not sure how many Pocket PC devices are out there that need this, but if you have one that accepts a CompactFlash Type II card and you want to connect it to an 802.11g wireless LAN, Linksys has got you covered.
The company today launched its Wireless-G CompactFlash Card (WCF54G), which is compatible with Pocket PCs with the Windows Mobile 2002 or higher operating system. The card costs $99 and is available now, Linksys says.
In addition, the card includes built-in power management to help save battery power, offers software for "hassle-free" installation and configuration, and supports up to 128-bit WEP security. It provides backward compatibility for people still stuck connecting on an 802.11b network. Linksys says the card can also operate in ad hoc mode to let users download data from a wireless-enabled PC without having to use a wired cradle or a network connection, or to share data with other wireless-equipped PDAs.
