Consolidation, too

Along with dishing out product upgrades, CRM vendors have been on a buying spree lately.
The latest is Interface Software, which is acquiring the assets of Scout Solutions. The two vendors specialize in providing CRM for professional services companies such as accounting, financial services and legal firms. It's a niche that revolves around managing complex client relationships, rather than sales of physical products. Interface did not disclose the financial details of its purchase.
But Siebel Systems did: It's buying Eontec, which specializes in retail banking software, for $70 million upfront plus up to $60 million more in performance-driven incentives. Siebel gains branch teller and Internet banking capabilities in the deal.
