New Leader for Business Objects

Business intelligence software vendor Business Objects has hired veteran executive John Schwarz, former president of Symantec, as its new CEO.

Business Objects sells software that helps companies analyze and make sense of large amounts of corporate data. The company has been experiencing a growth spurt, with revenues up 16% to $511 million during the first half of 2005.
