Windows Media 9 on the beach

The Windows Media 9 hype machine is working to promote the premiere of Step into Liquid, a documentary on surfing (the real surfing, not the Web kind) that's making its debut on an outdoor screen. What's the big deal about that? The movie is being digitally projected and is encoded in high-definition Windows Media 9 format. No film reel here! So if you're in the Santa Monica Pier area of LA and see big screen with surfers on it, you now know what's going on.
