By Jason Meserve, NetworkWorld.com, 09/16/03
Optibase last week released MPEG MovieMaker 400, a PCI-based MPEG-4 encoder for low-bandwidth applications. The PCI card fits into any standard PC and comes with a software development kit that allows developers to integrate the encoder into their own applications such as corporate training, live TV or surveillance. MoveMaker400 can encode two separate channels at three different bitrates each.
9/17/03 update: Got pricing information for the MPEG MovieMaker 400. According to Optibase, the suggested price ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on configuration. There are five configurations available.
