iPod and Windows Media?

Yesterday's GMSV newsletter reported a rumor that the HP/Apple deal to sell OEMed iPods under the HP brand could also lead to the device supporting the Windows Media format. While some may argue AAC is a better music codec, the option to have the choice to use either popular format would be cool.
