Windows Media on non-Windows
By Jason Meserve, NetworkWorld.com, 04/15/04
My entry yesterday about Starbak's Windows Media-compatible client for Linux and Solaris brought a response from Ryan Skadberg over at Geeks, Guitars and Guinness (great Weblog name!). Starbak is obviously not "first to market" with this technology as you can see from Ryan's post. MPlayer, an open source media and animation client, support Windows Media and more on Linux and other operating systems. You can get more on MPlayer here. Thanks goes out to Ryan for pointing this out.
