New software decoder available

Media Excel is marketing a new software decoder capable of recieving MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and H.264 encoded content. The company's SoftStream player can be used with Windows CE devices and set-top boxes. All the major streaming transport protocols are supported as well. Media Excel believes its software can save hardware makers between $20 and $30 per unit.
