GarageBand class

Berkleemusic.com, the online extension of the prestigious Berklee School of Music, will begin offering an online course in GarageBand, Apple's every-man-can-be-a-composer software. According to the release from Berklee: "Rather than focusing on the technical and strictly functional aspects of GarageBand, Berkleemusic’s online course is structured to allow students to learn and apply Berklee’s renowned writing, arranging, and production techniques to this powerful program. The Berkleemusic learning environment also offers the unique opportunity for musicians to collaborate with Berkee faculty and other students from anywhere in the world in real time." No word on how much to take the course.
The announcement coincides with MacWorld, taking place this week in Boston. I stopped by the show floor yesterday and saw Berklee's tekno-rave ensemble in action, a group of eight students and one profressor hook their instruments to PowerBooks and play funky music. It's either really cool music or some amazing lipsync.
