IBM spends some $100 million per year on one-day business trips by employees. Part of the company's proposed IP videoconferencing initiative (which hopefully will get funding for 2005) aims to save 2% of the total (a cool $1 million), says Marianne Lamberti, program manager for Big Blue's internal video offerings.
