The group that oversees the 1394 Firewire standard has given the nod of approval to WiMedia Alliance's (WMA) technology that allows Firewire signals to be transmitted wirelessly over an Ultra Wideband connection. If this becomes a product, it could be quite cool: No need to worry about having the right cable interfaces handy.
