Mirror Image adds Flash support

In a growing endorsement of Flash as a vehicle for serving video content, Mirror Image joined the ranks of service providers that can deliver Flash-encoded video. Mirror Image customers can serve up FLV files both live and on-demand. Speedera and VitalStream also support the format.

Macromedia is late to the video game compared to the likes of Microsoft, RealNetworks and Apple, but the ubiquity of the Flash Player helps level the playing field. The Flash video is as good as the competition when served at similar data rates, though the Flash video file is bigger.
