Watch your home TV from anywhere

SkipJam this week announced SkipJam HomeView, an extension to its iMedia Home Network system that allows you to stream your TV, PVR or security cam video over the 'Net using MPEG-4 compression. iMedia can control multiple video sources using serial connections, infrared or uPnP and now the company is allowing you to extend your viewing outside the home. Not sure if they're going to run into the same restrictions TiVo had when engineering TiVo To Go, which content providers feared would be used to stream content to millions on non-paying customers. Not that anyone has the bandwidth to handle such a demand. If I am reading the SkipJam site correctly, iMedia has not shipped yet and HomeView will be a free add-on. According to the company's press release, SkipJam iMedia Center is priced at $799, SkipJam iMedia Player at $499, SkipJam iMedia Audio Player at $299, and SkipJam Audio Player Pro at $499.
