Google Video Search

Lot of hoopla today over Google's new Video Search feature that can used to find content from eight stations/networks: ABC (KGO), KRON, PBS, C-SPAN, KQED, NBC (KNTV), Fox News, and C-SPAN2. I tried it out today in an effort to find a clip of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward crying after the loss to the New England Patriots. No such luck, though I did find some mentions of Hines in relation to the game highlights. The problem though is that Google only returns transcript results and not actual video (just screen shots of the video). Blinkx.tv offers a similar service with the addition of being able to see the video, but they seem to have a BBC and NPR bias. I tried the same search phrase there and turned up nothing related to American football.
Some pundits say the Google offering is just an opening salvo to help get television executives warmed up to the idea of searchable content online, accessible anytime. It would be nice to go back and find a clip after it broadcasts and watch it from any PC.
Update: Our intrepid Layer 8 editor found the Ward clip here (it's linked on the right hand side).
