RealNetworks records Q4 profit ... sort of
By Jason Meserve, NetworkWorld.com, 01/26/05
RealNetworks released its fourth quarter results after the close of market today. It says it made its goal of profitability for the quarter, unless you count the expenses related to its ongoing anti-trust litigation efforts, which resulted in an overall loss of $1 million. (I made a profit too last year, if you don't count all my expenses.) For the year, the company lost $23 million. The key to profitability for Real is the consumer market with game and music download and subscriptions. $60.8 million of the $72.5 million in revenue came from the consumer front.
