Tandberg intros four new products

Tandberg has fully assimilated its products line under the MXP family name with the release of three new endpoints: Tandberg 150 MXP, 1000 MXP and Tactical MXP. Also, the company announced the 1000 MXP for Cisco CallManager, a version that works with Cisco's SCCP voice over IP protocol. While the outside of a 1000 MXP ($4,990) may look like its predecessor, the inside is all new, with support for the H.264 protocol, Tandberg's Expressway NAT/firewall traversal system and an XGA monitor. The 1000 MXP for Cisco CallManager comes with a special remote with buttons that mimic a Cisco IP phone. The 150 MXP ($2,990) is a software upgrade, meaning all existing 150 users can get the new functionality, which also now has Expressway support. For the Tactical unit ($19,600), a ruggedized self-contained device used in municipal emergency departments and the military, Tandberg shrunk the size of the unit itself so more gear can be stored in the case. The unit is also lighter down 7.6 pounds to 25.4 pounds.
Tandberg says the move to MXP for all its endpoints makes future upgrades easier across the entire platform. All of the products are not available.
