Small Webcasters are another step closer to the finish line in their battle against the music industry over royalty payments with the House of Representatives approving the deal yesterday. The deal was almost nixed by a musicians industry group that argued they would not be paid directly under the original language of the agreement, but a last minute amendment allowed for swift passage. Next step is the Senate. This does not cover larger Webcasters such as AOL and Clear Channel.
