Network World Fusion 10/31/02
Only on Halloween: Wired News has a report on Forever Enterprise, which offers people the chance to reminisce about moments of their life for viewing after death via the Forever Network. Those still living can begin creating their own memorials now (because when the deadline is up, so are you.) For those that are too busy living, the company can also help grief-stricken families create memorials for their recently deceased loved ones. The kicker:
Besides giving friends and family a way to remember loved ones, they offer a lively counterpoint to the display of an open casket when shown on plasma screens before or during actual funerals.
Each life story is, um, tastefully displayed as a scrolling time line containing snapshots from the person's life. Each photo is linked to a video of the now-dead or grieving family describing the memorable moment in time. How special... and eerie.
