Network World Fusion 11/20/02
Meetings and lots of walking dominated my day here at Comdex yesterday, but my colleague Paul Roberts at the IDG News Service sat in on an interesting debate over the validity of digital copyrights. The main combatants were Ted Cohen, the vice president of digital development and distribution at EMI Group PLC's EMI Recorded Music and Richard Stallman, president of the Free Software Foundation, with a few others firing pot shots for their respective causes.
File sharing is a sticky issue and one that will be dominating the world of multimedia for years. This is just one of many battles to come.
