Network World Fusion 12/06/02

Online radio station Radioio is now streaming its broadcast in MPEG-4 via the QuickTime player. The Internet broadcaster teamed up with Apple and Limelight Networks to offer the new format to users. The MPEG-4 stream is created using Apple QuickTime Broadcaster and served via the QuickTime Streaming Server.

Radioio offers the a high and low-bandwidth version of the MPEG-4 stream. At around 125K bit/sec, I am getting excellent quality sound on par or better than what comes out of my car stereo when listening to FM radio. Whether you like the music they play is another matter (80's, 90's pop stuff), but it's worth testing out if you're an audiophile.
