First the good news: The number of streaming media-based ad campaigns ia continuing to grow, according to a report in MediaPost. If advertisers see streaming media has a way to lure customers, then the would-be customers must be using the technology.
However, the streaming media equipment market doesn't seem to be able to support a company that focuses on just high-end equipment. Surgient Networks, which started life building appliances for delivering streaming media, has decided to drop that strategy and instead focus on data center automation software.
So the market does seem to be expanding, just not at a rate that supports niche companies focusing only on high-end items.
