BBC News is reporting that legal song downloads handily beat out CD singles by almost double in the U.S. Since the end of June, 7.7 million tracks were downloaded from services such as iTunes and MusicMatch, compared with 4 million CD singles sold in retail outlets. Is anyone really surprised by this news? If you want just one song, are you going to drive to the store to get it or make a few mouse clicks and have it in seconds?
