Network World Fusion 03/11/04

Looking to extend its format reach to all ends of the Earth, Microsoft is working with TWI Interactive to provide MobileVision, a streaming media service for mobile phone operators. The idea is that the Microsoft/TWI will handle all the management, encoding and delivery of streams for carrier customers, so they don't have to build-up their own infrastructure. Of course, Windows Media 9 will be the format of choice. No word on if any mobile operators have signed up for the offering.
