Can switching from ISDN to IP as the transport for videoconferencing save money? That seems to be the conclusion one can draw from my colleague Carolyn Marsan's article in this week's issue of Network World. ISDN still has its supporters, such as Genzym, which is using the technology exclusively (see my story on IP video that mentions Genzyme here.) But where IP bandwidth is cheap, IP is definitely the way to go, particulary for companies just getting into the technology.
