Novell released SuSE Linux Enterprise Server and Linux Enterprise Desktop calling the event “one of the most important product launches in our company's history. “

The two are the cornerstones of Novell’s Linux Enterprise 10.
In a recent one-on-one interview with Network World’s Phil Hochmuth, Novell CEO Ron Hovsepian said Linux was a centerpiece for the company going forward.
“We're doing two things with Linux. One is the enablement - virtualization enablement and other things like that. The second part of it is introducing a separate enterprise approach for our customers,” Hovsepian said.
“When you stop and think about what Linux can bring and what we're doing - we're really focusing in on creating this server-to-the-desktop story. This is really what we're focused on in the Linux dimension.”
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 includes virtualization capability with the Xen hypervisor, consolidated software management, security and storage features.
SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 features a GNOME desktop, as well as, advanced Beagle search and numerous enterprise-level software packages, including OpenOffice 2.0, Exchange-compatible mail client Evolution 2.6, the Firefox Web browser and instant messaging client Gaim 1.5.
To support the 10 platform Novell is introducing Novell Customer Center, an online portal for users to manage business and technical interactions with Novell. The Center lets users review the status of all their Novell products, subscriptions and services, and receive critical Linux updates and support.
