Microsoft has released the Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) Management Pack, which monitors that health of the components key to ADFS.
The management pack plugs into Microsoft Operations Manager (which will become System Center Operations Manager with the 2007 release) and monitors Federation Service, Federation Service Proxy, Claims-aware Web Agent, and Windows NT token-based Web Agent.
ADFS is part of Windows Server 2003 R2, which shipped in February.
ADFS is one of the final pieces of Microsoft’s identity management platform and represents the company’s first implementation of the WS-Federation protocol it developed with IBM. Microsoft has positioned WS-Federation as the linchpin for integrating security infrastructures between companies.
