Hard Rock International said today it had signed up Savvis to outsource the hotel, casino and restaurant chain’s wide area services.
Under the terms of the contract, Savvis will deploy a fully-managed network for 67 Hard Rock Cafe restaurants around the globe, including 17 locations throughout Europe. Savvis will serve as the network backbone for providing retail and customer services such as credit card transactions and in-store video, along with supporting key centralized business applications. In addition, the serive provider will offermanaged security services and will serve as Hard Rock's corporate-wide area network. Hard Rock manages the audio-visual systems in the restaurants over the network, as well as the more traditional systems for point-of-sale transactions and the supply chain. The value of the contract was not revealed.
