I talked with a huge Sun fan at the Network World Technical Tour presentation of WLANs yesterday. He thought the $1.6 billion Microsoft is paying Sun means that Sun won the various legal battles. I say that Microsoft pulled out their wad of cash and peeled off about 2 percent of their ready cash and shut down more embarrassing court cases. In addition, Sun and Microsoft both lose whenever Linux wins, so they have become partners united against a common enemy.
What do you think about that? And if you're running a small business, do you care at all?
