Here's a spring show I'm supposed to go to. (I'll try!)

Digital City Expo
Reston, VA
April 18-19, 2005

Some verbiage:
Broadband has rapidly become a key staple of our local economies and a catalyst for growth of our future economies. Unfortunately, in many of our communities, there exists a gap between what is being provided (infrastructure and services), and what is actually needed.

Digital City EXPO is the first and only forum that seeks to address these and other economic, legal, financial, technological, and infrastructure issues in an open and educational way. By bringing together community leaders of all kinds with the most knowledgeable practitioners and experienced implementers, Digital City EXPO becomes the place where "The Digital City" is made possible.

Municipalities are looking at advanced broadband services as a key to fostering an environment that will allow them to attract new businesses and stimulate the local economy. In many cases existing broadband and broadband-related services are not developing at a pace local governments find acceptable and they are turning towards new technologies such as fiber to the home and broadband wireless to fill the gap. The Yankee Group believes municipalities will play a significant role in driving these new technologies into the marketplace.
