CIO on the board
NetworkWorld.com, 10/17/05
Rivermine, which makes software designed to help companies track their telecom spending, has named Marriott International CIO Carl Wilson to its board. It struck us as an unusual and interesting move in that we don't recall seeing such an IT exec named to a board before. It's not surprising in this case in that Marriott is Rivermine's big reference account but it's still good to see an IT exec getting some respect. We'll be really impressed when we see some network architects appointed to corporate boards. Do you know of other such IT execs on company boards? Is it a good or bad thing?
