VoIP service provider in the money
NetworkWorld.com, 10/19/05
It's not every day that a service provider gets venture funding, so when it does happen, it's news. StarVox Communications of San Jose this week announced it has received $9 million in series A funding from Novus Ventures, Trinad Capital Master Fund and Deutsche Suisse Asset Management. StarVox, which had its coming out in August, provides business VoIP services such as trunking and Centrex. It also offers wholesale services to carriers. The company's domestic VoIP network boasts 300-plus points of presence. StarVox is far from alone in getting first-stage financing this year, as a recent survey shows. Will StarVox's offerings strike a chord with customers? We found earlier this year that small and midsize businesses were most interested in such services.
